Clockd ("Clockd", "we", "us", or "our") provides a time-tracking mobile application, web dashboard, and client portal ("Services") for legal professionals. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Services, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information — name, email address, firm, role, and password (stored in hashed form).
- Time-tracking data — time entries, matter and client names, case notes, call metadata (duration, phone number), and any content you enter into the app.
- Device & usage data — device type, operating system, IP address, app version, crash logs, and aggregated product analytics.
- Optional permissions — with your consent, access to your phone contacts and call logs to automate time entries, and notifications.
- Payment information — if you purchase a paid plan, billing details are processed by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
3. How we use information
- To provide, operate, and improve the Services.
- To authenticate users and secure accounts.
- To sync time entries across devices and with your client portal.
- To provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- To send service communications (e.g. receipts, security alerts, feature updates). Marketing emails are opt-in and include an unsubscribe link.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Vetted vendors that help us run Clockd (hosting, analytics, email, payments) under contracts that restrict their use of the data.
- Your firm or account owner. If you use Clockd through a firm account, your administrator may access entries and usage data within that account.
- Your clients. When you invite a client to the client portal, they see only the entries and invoices you share with them.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers. If Clockd is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred subject to this Policy.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. We may retain limited information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong unique password and enable two-factor authentication where available.
7. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@getclockd.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA. EU/UK residents have rights under GDPR/UK-GDPR. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
8. Children's privacy
Clockd is intended for legal professionals and is not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you through the app or by email before the change takes effect.
